The Culinary Institute, in Hyde Park, NY, is considered the top culinary school in the US. They offer both bachelors and associates degrees. This school is located on a beautiful campus north of NYC. They also have campuses in California and in Texas. They should list their tuition on their website, but remember, you'll also be applying for financial aid, so that's going to help you pay. As for which is better: culinary or pastry, that's up to you. It's which you think is more to your own personal interests and strengths, because if you come out of the Culinary Institute, you'll be well set up to make a career, no matter what you major in. The school has a very strong name in the industry.

CIA like the other poster said, but I would also look at Johnson & Wales University. They have many campuses I would check it out: Denver, Charlotte, North Miami, and Province. In Johnson & Wales you can do both, so I would double major. You get a AA after the two years and a Bachelors after the next two years, I just looked at the campus in North Miami. You need a 2.5 GPA which is no not that hard, and do not need to take the SATS. My brother wants to be a chef. Good Luck!

Your first step will have to be getting your education credentials evaluated for US equivalency. There are a number of companies that provide this service and here is a link to their association web site: http://www.naces.org/members.htm Assuming you meet or exceed the prerequisite course work, you will need to take the MCAT exam: http://www.aamc.org/students/mcat/ Once you get your MCAT scores back you will need to apply to the medical schools through AMCAS: http://www.aamc.org/students/amcas/ Good luck with your future.

What do you think about the kids who were sent home for wearing USA shirts in a USA school

What do you think about the kids who were sent home for wearing USA shirts in a USA school?!?
Instead, they warmly welcomed anyone with a Mexican La Raza shirt. This happened in California btw.....does the southwest officially belong to Mexico now?

Illegal immigrants at their school were offended
2 :
You are making it look like something it was not. It was mexican sensitivity day and a day for the mexican kids to feel welcome. Those kids wore those t shirts to put down the mexican kids. Stop provoking you dont look too bright sorry.
3 :
USA school probably ran by a bunch of mexicans. Sad huh.
4 :
Princess, who cares if it was Mexican sensitivity day? This is America and people should be allowed to wear the American flag any day of the week, if the Mexicans feel offended, they should go back to their third world hellhole.!!!
5 :
Kids are sent home regularly for wearing La Raza shirts and any other slogan from their culture. You really have no knowledge of what you write.
6 :
What's even funnier is that a few of those kids were half Hispanic
7 :
Why is Sarah Palin on a US cable channel (FOX,ofc) wearing a non-American, potentially Secessionist flag instead of the Stars and Stripes?
8 :
Mexicans are offended by our flag.
9 :
princess penelope: Stop with the bullcrap. This is the US, where citizens should feel free to display the American flag on their clothes any day of the year they want. This isn't Mexico. Would you go to Mexico and demand the Mexican flag not be worn on clothes on the 4th of July? I wouldn't because I have more respect than that. Obviously these delusional kids whining about the flag in the US on the 5 May don't have the same respect for us.
10 :
Americans need to wake up and do it quickly, our country is being taken from us by liberals and by those that would support illegal immigrants for the purpose of acquiring political support, the once honorable Democratic Party. Folks, its not too late, Vote come November and Vote Wisely, because that's the only thing that's going to save our country!
11 :
I need to see the context, but my immediate thought is: what kind of parent uses their kid asa political weapon? I mean, besides Mom of the Century: Special Needs Sarah Palin.
12 :
They get to wear their flags, we get to wear ours. If they don't like our flag, WTF are they doing HERE?

What year was paddles taken out of school in USA

What year was paddles taken out of school in USA?
We had paddles in school. Our principle put three holes in it.
Primary & Secondary Education - 5 Answers

It all depends on the school district. I recall a school district in the Bakersfield, CA area that still swatted errant bratty students as recently as 1983. This was a middle school where I used to substitute teach. Yes, I sent some really bratty, rude and out of control boys in to the vice principal for swats.
2 :
Long after I graduated. 1985 I think.
3 :
I dread to think what paddles are/were though I suspect it is to do with striking pupils we had the cane or slipper both thank heavens scrapped long ago. To allow this is surely an encouragement to the more dangerous elements like the teacher who has just been arrested here for hitting a child with a weight and said child now being in hospital fighting for his very life. Do we really want our teachers giving such bad examples and then blaming violence on the kids themselves? I don't.
4 :
I don't know what year, because I graduated from High School in 1953 and they still had paddles where I was!! :-)
5 :
Good question! I have no idea when, but, I do think it was one of the dumbest things we ever did!

You have to get a sponsor first, preferably a relative.
2 :
If you get on with a university as a teacher, they will be your sponsor. In your case, you should be getting into a good school if your transcripts are good, so I would think Stanford or MIT (no idea, sorry) would sponsor you and bam. If going to a tech corporation, then it still should be no problem. I would focus on jobs.

My dh participates in the admission process for his Ivy alma mater, and Poly and Prep are considered equal, same as H-W. Stats vary year to year, but overall they are similar. In reality, Prep is probably a bit more rigorous than Poly, with tougher grading policies, this is info from parents with kids at both. However, Prep seems to be a more supportive community of students (study groups, sharing study guides, etc), Poly tends to stress kids out more, they tend to be more competitive with each other. Prep isn't into PR with the public, while Poly is. This is why there will be more applications per space at Poly, but don't let that scare you, when you go to the classroom experience, you will see that many applicants are no where near qualified. Chances are a Poly student would never turn down an Ivy, even if they hated it, while a Prep student would, and do. Prep students are generally the top students, academically AND socially, at all the local top K - 8s, while Poly students are smart but often are less socially astute. Sports are more important at Poly than Prep, if you're a good athlete it will help for Poly. At Prep it's a big thing to get kids to step outside of their comfort zone, athletes trying drama, nerds trying athletics, etc. Poly tends to be more organized overall, more structured, but Prep is ok in that respect. To be blunt and concise - Prep = laid back, Poly = uptight. Both are great schools, but different personalities, to each, their own. If you visit both schools, you should know which one is the right fit for you. Go with your instincts. Some kids are immediately turned off by Poly's totally guided visit (which they've had in the past, don't know about this year), in which you had to go with a certain group, and couldn't wander and look at what they wanted to, while other kids really like that kind of structure. If you didn't score in the high 90's x 4 on your ISEEs, without much studying, you are in for a lot of stress at either school. 5+ hours of homework a night for the naturally smartest students, the ones who seem to learn by osmosis, and often about the same on the weekends, 2+ hours of sports practice or academic rehearsal, often on the weekends too, clubs, community service, etc. Many very bright kids at both schools go to sleep at 1 - 2am. The schedule keeps kids busy and out of trouble, as the headmasters will tell you. Either school will be a big bump up, some of the private middle schools are not as rigorous as the parents are lead to believe, and the public schools are a step behind. But hang in there, get mentally prepared, make school your priority, and by the 2nd semester you will be doing much better. A step down in rigor, but still great schools are Mayfield (lots of top students who were admitted to Poly and Prep, but need to spend a lot of time on other things, like athletics, dance, etc), and Westridge (but it tends toward high stress). Then there is LaSalle, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy (FSHA / Fa-Sha), Alverno, and Maranatha. (And the boy's schools, St. Francis and Loyola.) All great schools, it depends on which is the right fit for you. If you are interested in Poly, be sure you respond immediately if you get any handwritten notes from your tour guide or anyone else there. And be sure your parents sign up early for the tea, and all parent events, they do get filled up. If you don't show major interest, they tend to figure you're not interested, they like to only admit those they know will commit, they don't like to have a high percentage of students turning them down. Either school will give you a great education, it just depends on which one is the better fit for you. Good luck!

You might want to go to the website wi.gov and click on their education link. You will be able to find open teaching jobs in the state, as well as the requirements. You will probably need to apply for certification. Assuming you're qualified, I would think you would be a commodity as many schools are seeking to have more diversity in their staff.

The only acceptable choice at this point is either to send them to a proper private school, or as a mother (or father, if that's what you wish)... School them yourselves. Government schools are a joke. Ah.. sorry, I misread your question. It's honestly different for different children. My brother started at four, and was not ready. He had to relearn the same things two years in a row. He's quite the whippersnapper now though :-D I on the other hand, learned to read at 4 years old. I think that the parent is the best judge at when the child is ready, no one else.

how i can inform school in usa to not allow physical communications between boy and girl?

how i can inform school in usa to not allow physical communications between boy and girl? ?
my children goes to this school and yesterday she come back and say "dad the teacher give me project with boy" how i will allow this? maybe he will touch her in bad way. they are 15 years. i think to tell them do it in our home so i can watch, but maybe the neighbours will see him coming into the house they will think bad things. what the neighbours would think when they see this boy come in our house? i am new in america and i do not have knowledge of this.
Other - United States - 6 Answers

1 :
This is America. Things are different here. The boy and the school are not the problem. The problem is your beliefs and the way you raise your daughter. You and your daughter need to talk and come up with something between the two of you. My children behave because it is the right thing to do... Not because I locked them up away from the world.
2 :
If you fear your daughter being touched "badly" by a boy, do you not worry about her when she is at school when you are not there to supervise? You should stop worrying and trust your daughter a bit more. This is America, after all, where boys and girls mix and mingle all the time. No one will think anything of it, as it is quite common to see boys and girls together in America. I have neighbor teens in my home all the time. Your neighbors don't care who is coming into your home, unless your visitors are impacting the neighborhood. Boys visit girls' homes frequently in America, and girls visit the boys, too. If you're so concerned about her interaction with boys, put her in an all girls school. However I advise against this. Let her be a normal teenager.
3 :
Send your daughter to an all girl school. If you can't afford it learn to live with it. In the US girls and boys (and men and women) interact.
4 :
I'm not sure what culture you come from, but boys and girls working on school projects together is completely normal. Also, a boy and girl hanging out, being friends, going to the mall/movies/wherever together is completely normal. Your neighbors will not think you are strange if you allow this boy to come work on the project at your house. I would also stop worrying about this boy trying to touch your daughter inappropriately. Although something like that can happen, it is highly UNLIKELY. Maybe you should ask your daughter if she feels comfortable working on this project with him. That may give you a little more comfort with this situation. But, like I said, this is the US. Boys and girls have friendships, work on school assignments together, and it doesn't mean there is anything sexual going on between them.
5 :
Dont worry, even if he does try to touch your daughter i trust that you raised her well enought to say no. And if a boy comes through your door no one will care. We are very liberal in general in America. Also it depends where you are people might care more in the sticks than in a big city such as San Francisco
6 :
As others have said this is America. When my family came over from Europe - they eagerly embraced the American culture of freedom and openness - some however who have religions that want to control every facet of a persons day - have problems with that. they place fear in your hearts to retain control. You have raised your daughter well - she will be fine - it is what America is all about. Freedom to be who you are, to speak to who you wish to, to not be beaten for your thoughts or words, freedom to attend school and worship how you want to.

There aren't many boarding school in a city, so your combination of very good academics, good football team and in a city is a tall order. Are you familiar with Max Preps http://www.maxpreps.com/national/football.htm ? You can review prep football teams there. Of course, some schools have a long-term winning record, and others just have a good year because of a star player. Take a look at Milton Academy http://www.milton.edu/athletics/football.cfm which is just outside of Boston. There are no boarding schools in NYC, but Trinity Pawling http://www.trinitypawling.org/page.cfm?p=683&teamID=26 is close to a train to the city. I suspect the level of football is also good at Salisbury and Avon Old Farms. Take a look at Hotchkiss (countryside), Deerfield (countryside), and Blair (countryside, but buss access to NYC on weekends). While Choate is not known for football, it does have great academics and access to NYC by train. Don Bosco in NJ has a consistently great football team. However, it is a day school. You might call the school to find out if they offer the possibility of boarding with local families. To identify more football schools, you can google some of the better-known sports leagues -- ISL, Ericson, Founders and MAPL. Good luck!

I'm from India and relocating to USA next year. My 17 year old daughter is studying in 12th standard here in India at present. I want to admit her in school (may be in 10th or 11th standard) instead of college eventhough she is eligible for college. This is because of change of atmosphere, different teaching methodology etc. I feel that once she is aquented with the people, teachers, new educational methodology, new atmosphere etc, then it is better to get admission in college. Is this possible? Can the school authorities consider my request?

I'm not 100% sure on this one. However, I believe that if you were to contact either the School Administrator or the Principal of the area you are looking to move to and explain the situation they could give you advice. I know that I knew people in school that had moved from another state to my state (Arizona) and were required to go a grade down due to graduation requirements or different teaching lessons. I'm not sure if thats a nation wide policy however I did see it happen in Arizona. Hope this helps you some, and that your travel and relocation to the USA is pleasent. USA May God Bless You

Find a sponser and also get a connection who can get you cheap deals on airfrieght and postage. Otherwise, it will be very expensive to send/remit books over. Alternatively, you may wish to approach the publisher to get some of the old copies [that may not be relevant/wanted] sent over. (: hope that helped.

And I don't know how much a private high school helps as far as getting into Ivey league schools, but I know that I was accepted to Rice, Stanford, Duke, UNC-chapel hill, Rochester, etc. all that I applied to and I am from a very country/small/poor public school. I would save my 10K a year, but then I can understand a parent wanting to send their children to "the best of the best." ... then again maybe I would never have taken that gap year. They can cost anywhere from 8 to 28K. Depends on which one you pick. Then that price doesn't include books and such.

$3000-$15000 I pay $5000 for my tenth grade daughter you get what you pay for a friend has a public school daughter who is 5th in her class of about 500 and got a 26 on the ACT and thinks daughter should start college as a sophomore my private school graduate got a 30 on the ACT and ranked 24th in her class of 117...and she is doing very well in college while many of her public school friends have been called home or sent home for academic problems

What is the cheapest fashion school in USA

What is the cheapest fashion school in USA?

With Obama as president i doubt anything will be cheap
2 :
That's not how it works. Everything depends on what major & classes you have to take, room & board, meal plans, and a WHOLE lot of other stuff. There is also financial aid and you could get money for school depending on your financial situation. Other factors depend on your high-school grades and scholarships.

How much is the average income of an owner of a martial arts school in USA

How much is the average income of an owner of a martial arts school in USA?
I would like to know what is the best place to open a martial arts school, and to know how much is the average income of the martial arts owner in USA. Also, wich is the better option to get sucesful?, What is the best option in marketing tools, and statistics info of towns?, and What is the city that you recommended in Florida state, preferably at Miami or near there.?

even tho it may seem tempting, NEVER get people to sign black belt contracts also, wat martial art are we talkin about?
2 :
florida has more 7th, 8th and 9th degree black belts teaching then Japan, Okinawa and Korea combined. that alone should be enough to keep you away from teaching down there, and i'm sure most of them suck people into some bs contract, which is basically away of ripping people off. before you even begin worring about the income a martial artist makes, you need to under stand busness and in okinawan and japanese organizations you need at least a 3rd or 4th degree before you are ready for the license of sensei, license and rank are separate and not automatic like most people presume. as for the business aspect most business fail with in the first 3 years, martial arts in-particular since most black belts don't know how to run a business.

Difference between a J1 Visa And F1 visa for High School in USA

Difference between a J1 Visa And F1 visa for High School in USA ?
Hello. I am planning on going study my high school in USA and i need a visa. I am from Canada and i would like to know what is the difference between a J1 visa and a F1 visa. Thanks
Immigration - 3 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
You need a J1 visa to attend high school in the US. You can use a F1 visa to attend college.
2 :
you can only attend 1 year of high school - You CANNOT do all 4 years
3 :
A J-1 visa is known as an exchange visitor, holders of this visa are participating in a program that's aim is to promote cultural exchanges between the two countries (programs can be like student studies, or short term visits, etc.). It is monitored and exchange visitors and programs are accepted into it by department of state. A lot of programs require that the exchange visitor return to their home country for atleast two years after the program has ended in order to pass along the cultural learnings. See the state department website for more information: http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1267.html An F-1 is a student visa that allows a foreign national to enter into certain levels of study in the U.S., even public high school, providing that they have the necessary funds to pay for school tuition. Attendance is limited to 12 months for a public secondary school, though, so if you wanted to spend your entire high school career in the U.S., you would have to attend a private institution. See http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1269.html for more information.

if you lie about your work experience for MBA application to a business school in USA or Canada, what happens

if you lie about your work experience for MBA application to a business school in USA or Canada, what happens?
1) If you lie about your work experience (or fake work experience) for MBA application for a business school in USA or Canada or UK, what happens? 2) Is this information shared with other universities in the country/state, if caught?
Higher Education (University +) - 3 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
If it's a lie about anything substantial enough that it would have an impact on your application chances? You'll get caught. They can check references; they can read between the lines in letters of recommendation and your essays; they can reach out to alumni or personal connections in your field and ask about you or the type of work you've done; they can grill you about the scope of your responsibilities during your interview. And while I don't know that they'd put you on any kind of formal blacklist, they certainly communicate with each other, and might feel the need to pass along to your current employer and references that you've been stretching the truth. It's just not worth it.
2 :
Hopefully the school will find out and reject you. We don't need unethical people holding the degree. It's best to be honest and earn the degree honestly. You may get away with it at some school, but eventually your poor ethics will catch up with you. Look at all the high level executives and politicians that are now serving jail sentences. Most MBA programs prefer students with 2-3 years work experience after the first degree, but many accept students right out of college if they have good grades and a high GMAT score. Some MBA programs are designed specifically for new college graduates without work experience.so there is no need to lie; you only have to find the program in which you can fit honestly. Consult the Official MBA Guide. It's a comprehensive free public service with more than 2,000 MBA programs listed worldwide. It allows you to search for programs by location (US, Europe, Far East, etc.), by concentration (finance, marketing, aviation management, health management, accounting, etc.), by type of program (full-time, distance learning, part-time, executive, and accelerated), and by listing your own criteria and preferences to get a list of universities that satisfy your needs. Schools report their accreditation status, tuition cost, number of students, class sizes, program length, and a lot of other data. Schools provide data on entrance requirements, program costs, program characteristics, joint degrees, and much more. You can use the Guide to contact schools of your choice, examine their data, visit their web site, and send them pre applications. You can see lists of top 40 schools ranked by starting salaries of graduates, GMAT scores, and other criteria. It's the best service available at http://officialmbaguide.org.
3 :
Nothing will happen. Schools want your money. They also want their class to have a certain profile. If they lack applicants with your profile, you will get in no matter what lies you tell. Given the high rate of unemployment, there are more applicants today than in years past. This is in spite of the job prospects at graduation and the likely decrease in expected compensation. Also there is a decrease in scholarship money so be prepared to pony up more of the bill. Last, don't bother with schools outside the top 10. The overwhelming majority of graduates from programs outside the top 10 are either under or simply unemployed ... with a huge debt. So be aware that what you get in return for a successful lie may not necessarily be what you want to have.

Are our children Safe in USA school with Russia on offensive in Georgia

Are our children Safe in USA school with Russia on offensive in Georgia?
Is Russia just going through a phase? I mean what if Russia decides they gonna use nukes on our children at school in the USA next? are our children talki about the russia georgia conflict at school? are our children safe an learnin bout evil russia whats going on in school's social studies now a days?
Politics - 13 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
instead of our children, your children are in safety
2 :
According to Bush: Childrens do learn so they should be safe.
3 :
I wouldn't worry about a nuclear attack. Russia is well aware of the mutual assured destruction doctrine. If Russia attacks US soil, they are finished. Granted it would be a blood bath, but it is in no one's best interest to go to a full scale war.
4 :
If its anybodys kids who are at risk its Britain's , we are not that far from Russia , so they would use us as an example first , because they now we cant afford to nuke them back
5 :
Personally, I have no problems with what Russia did, considering it's Georgia that attacked first. Our own irresponsible foreign policy probably fueled a large part of Russia's response to the situation. The USA is in Iraq. We've sold arms (tens of billions of dollars worth) to Saudi Arabia, Israel and Egypt. We're rattling sabers with Iran and "keeping all options on the table". We're expanding NATO east and setting up a dubious missile defense system... Imagine if Russia put a missile defense system in Quebec... The Russian threat is as large and problematic as we make it out to be... the action/reaction diplomacy that this administration practices is borderline lunacy and irresponsible... but a large part of what happens will be on their shoulders, no matter how much they want to blame Russia.
6 :
I wouldn't worry. I mean...Iraq was supposed to have nuked us by now, followed by Iran, Syria, North Korea, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Cuba, and Venezuela. Presently, our kids have more to fear from their government cutting their social programs, school funding budgets, WIC, Headstart, and so many other arenas of interest that--by the time Russia gets around to launching nukes at us--most of this country will be either dead from the lack of affordable healthcare, penniless from a worthless dollar, or buried up to their armpits by 193 million illegal immigrants straight from Mexico.
7 :
Yes, they are in danger from Russia. They are also in danger from the Terrorist supporting countries like, but not limited to, Iran, Venezuela and North Korea. The largest threat to our children though, if from people who answered that claim that reductions in WIC and other money stealing social programs endangered our children. These leaches will suck us dry from the inside, weakening us so we collapse into Socialism, and die like the Soviet Union did, or be poverty stricken like Cuba.
8 :
IF RUSSIA HAS LITTLE RESPECT FOR US, WE COULD BE IN SERIOUS DANGER. THE RUSSIAN MILITARY IS NO MATCH TO THE UNITED STATES BUT THEY HAVE NUCLEAR WEAPONS AND A LOT OF THEM
9 :
The children of the US are as safe as they been since Russia and other countries developed their own nuclear weapons. Back in the 50s-70s kids were taught to seek for cover under their desks during a nuclear attack. This of course is pointless, and so is worrying about it. The big problem really is that this administration has provoked and encouraged George to start a conflict with Russia so that Poland would be scared enough to accept a missile base on its soil. This will make Poland a target of a nuclear response from Russia. Mutual assured destruction (MAD) has and will continue to prevent a nuclear war between US and Russia. This doesn't not mean that other countries will get the same consideration.
10 :
Wow... you poor thing... don't be so scared. Russia has no plans to attack the USA.... They are trying to take over a small neighboring country that they have had hostile relations with for quite some time... The USA is not fighting against Russia. Besides, do you really think that your kids would be any safer on one side of town as opposed to the other?
11 :
Relax. A full scale nuclear war will have no winner. There would be so much fallout that even countries that would want no part of it, would get it. If the s**t ever hit the fan, neither country would send just one or two bombs. It would look more like the arrows did in the movie "300". Unless Putin and Bush are truly psychos, that won't happen. What Russia will do is pimp-slap our allies around since they know that our hands are tied militarily with Iraq and Afghanistan. Russia wants to show the world that in this ocean, they are now a great white, not Nemo.
12 :
Russia is going through a phase alright. Its called plutocracy or more appropriately naked kleptocracy. Where mobsters, FSB and former KGB agents run the country and give nothing back. That said, I suspect, the thousands of nuclear weapons both sides have, still work, so there is no danger from Russia, and even if we didn't have the nukes, an invasion of the US is not something you can just do overnight. The old rule of mutually assured destruction still works...basically...I've got mine, you've got yours and if we use them they f*ck everything up....like lawyers. Russia, is also "feeling the need" to demonstrate to the region that it's "back" , with respect to it's military capability, and "uppity Georgians" are just the excuse they were looking for. They will saber-rattle and may even pose a military threat to one or two of their neighbors, until the oil runs out. The Ossetian/Russian conflict, is yet another reason, in a long, long list of reasons, for our nation to become deadly serious about getting away from using oil. Lastly, Our children (and most of our adults) should learn absolutely as much as possible about other countries, so we know what is worth worrying about and what is just unfortunate. As far as the Ossetia situation, it's not at all an exaggeration to suggest that 1. The Georgians - at the very least - encouraged the fight, and that 2. The Ukrainians, Georgians and Ossetians need to take a hard look at their economic tailspins and consider that the over-riding problem for them is dealing with the Russians on one side and Islamists on the other, it's just a seriously crappy neighborhood, from a security / geopolitical perspective.
13 :
American children are quite safe. I am a Russian who was born in the United States to Russian immigrant parents. I relocated back to Mother Russia in August of 2005. Russia has never attacked children under the leadership of the Hon Vladimir Putin. Russia is not the country that places sanctions on other nations because they refuse to do their bidding. (I.E. a estimated 500,000 Iraqi children died between 1991-2001 from common illnesses due a lack of medical supplies that the Ussraeli/UK endorsed). Iraqi children are still having their little legs blown off and other physical dismemberment as a result of the Illegal, undeclared, unsanctioned, immoral, unethical, war taking place in Iraq. Russia, contrary to popular belief does not massacre their own citizens. To answer your question, In my opinion American children are very safe. The honorable Vladimir Putin has saved thousands of children in the republic of South Ossetia while Georgian troops (armed with the latest small arms of Ussrael). So a better question would be this: Are Russian children safe while maniacs like Bush, Cheney, and Rice are leading the way? From being raised in America, I have developed a insight into the American psych that few other Russian brothers or sisters possess. From this I would say that hostilities will not develop into anything more than rhetoric. If it is one thing that I have learned about the U.S., it is that Americans do not pick fights with nations that have the ability to defend themselves. Therefore, I see America coming to her senses and acting with a little more respect towards Russia in the future.

4 Years in High school. You would need 11th and 12th grade.

you are correct with finishing 11th and 12th here. you can always however get your GED so you dont have to take 2 more years.

It takes 4 years to finish High School in USA. You will still need to finish 11th and 12th grade. But by taking extra credit courses over the summer you can get more credits and graduate early. But basically you will need to go to school for 2 more years.

In the U.S. high school is 4 years. I believe you need to finish the 11th and 12th grade.

Can I major in business instead of biology, physics, etc and still continue to dentistry school in USA? For example, I take Bachelor's degree in business in another country, can I still take dentistry in USA? If can, will the university prefer people with the biology/physics/etc major more?

Pre-dentistry doesn't require you to major in a certain subject (e.g. bio or physics) yet there are still certain requirements of "pre-dentistry" that prepare you for dental school - such as a year of bio, several semesters of chemistry, a year of physics, and the like. As long as you meet those requirements, dental school won't care what your major is. Likewise, I believe if you're an international student and you meet all the requirements/have a good GPA/good recommendations and the like, it won't matter if your school is American or not.
2 :
if your real passion is to be a dentist, then i think your safest bet is getting your bachelor's in biology/physics. because if you really want to be a dentist, then why would you get a bachelor's in business?

Your first objective is to see if your degree will be recognized by a US university. If it is, then you're in luck. Almost every US medical school requires foreign graduates to attend at least 1 year at a US university. If your degree is recognized, you can enroll in a post-baccalaureate program to complete all of the prerequisite courses for medical school, which is exactly what US medical schools prefer foreign educated applicants do. Unfortunately, there are some medical schools that will accept foreign students only if they have completed their college education in the US. The good news is that most of the universities and medical schools address this issue on their web sites.

Is there a vaccination for USA school girls that is mandatory

Is there a vaccination for USA school girls that is mandatory ?
Was wondering if there is now, or will be in the near future be a mandatory vaccination for girls in the united states of america that are enrolled in public schools. The one to prevent cancer of the unterus or ovaries. If this vaccine were to be made mandatory do you think it's fair? Should it be a choice instead?

Its NOT mandatory BUT it is highly recommended that we take the vaccination. My Grandma works for a Heath Department and i have to go get mine pretty soon.
2 :
There is nothing mandatory right now. There is no vaccine to prevent cancer of the uterus or ovaries. You are probably thinking of Gardasil, which protects against certain cervical cancers. It's a choice to be vaccinated. If one is high-risk, then by all means, have the vaccine. Women who aren't in a monogamous relationship are more at risk than those who are. HPV is a sexually transmitted disease that can lead to cervical cancer. Keep in mind, this doesn't protect from ALL forms of cervical cancer.

take the government out of it and let the teachers do there jobs
2 :
I would pay teachers enough that REALLY good people would want to teach, rather than only the people who (too often, sadly) can't do anything else. :-(
3 :
pay really good teachers much more money. their average salary in NY is like 40000 to 50000 for all the work they do i think they should be paid more. at least like 60 to 70 thousand.
4 :
Let them learn at home on the computer. It will lower taxes & Columbine type incidents will be a thing of the past. Let them interact with others online so their social skills are not diminished.
5 :
As you have noted there are a number of issues with the school system, but I will only address acouple. First restore power to the school staff so that they might enforce rules and discipline, and then raise the standards back to a comparable level with those years ago, where a student had to have acquired an actual education to receive a diploma.
6 :
#1 Raise the wages of schoolteachers across the country. Pay raises should be mandatory for teachers with respectable track records in terms of turning out literate children. #2 Get rid of summer vacation. School should be a year-round affair like they have in Japan. The rest of us have to work like this, why shouldn't teachers & students? Vacations should be limited to a week per season - Winter, Spring, Summer, & Fall. #3 Uniforms should be the norm in every school, not just a few districts. But there should be some room for fashion flexibility in the high school years as the kids are becoming more adult-like.
7 :
Have the tax money follow the student like it was in the 50's and 60's. If the child goes to a Catholic school send the money there same if it is a Jewish school. Parents can pay the difference. The school should be required to meet certian requirements for academics and have an open admission policy. This would. 1) Improve competition for students and thus improve Quality 2) Improve pay for teachers that can teach well. 3) Improve ethics and morality. (anyone ever have a nun for a teacher?) 4) Allow parents more SAY in THEIR CHILD's education. 5) Removes a bunch of government red tape. 6) Allow local school boards to govern the public schools.
8 :
Time school starts, when school is in, and dress codes.

Hi You need to check the state site in where you want to teach. Florida: http://www.teachinflorida.com/ For a foreing degree you will need to follow some steps that I can nor recall right now but rearch the website and you will find alll the info that you need
2 :
you need to decide which state you want to teach in because each state has it's own requirements. you can't get one certification for teaching and go to any state. Florida also requires that the individual pass a general knowledge test besides having a college degree and certification. Other states might have additional requirements. your best bet is to look online at each state's board of education for requirements.

Sure. The following are the most common ages for students to start a particular grade. Preschool, sometimes called Prekindergarten Ages 3 and 4 Elementary school Kindergarten - 5 1st grade - 6 2nd - 7 3rd - 8 4th - 9 5th - 10 Junior high school, also called Middle school 6th - 11 7th - 12 8th - 13 High school 9th - 14 10th - 15 11th - 16 12th - 17 Some additional notes: Different school districts can divide the grade levels up differently. Some school districts place 5th graders at the junior high school, while others place 6th graders at the elementary school. Some school districts place 8th graders at the high school, while others place 9th graders at the junior high school. The decision has little to do with the education, and is generally based upon factors such as which school buildings have enough space to accomodate the students. For example, if the elementary school has too many students, and the middle school has empty classrooms, then the school district might decide to move the fifth graders to the middle school. Oh, and preschool is generally not required, but it is becoming increasingly more popular.

Pre-Kindergarten 4-5 Kindergarten 5 - 6 1st Grade 6-7 2nd grade 7-8 3rd grade 8-9 4th 9-10 5th 10-11 6th 11-12 7th 12-13 8th 13-14 9th 14-15 10th 15-16 11th 16-17 12th 17-18 With these ages in the state of Georgia you have to take into account the child's birthday. If their birthday is AFTER September 1st they have to wait another year to start. Also if your child is born in June, July, or August you can postpone their going to school for a year. In georgia kindergarten is NOT required so your child could start in first grade at 6 years old. In example your child's turn 6 in june. He can start 1st grade in the fall of that year, or you can make him wait till the following year, but if your child turns 6 on September 2nd he would NOT go until the following year. Hope this helps. Bethany

Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten. First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Grades are Elementary Level. Junior High level is from 7th through 9th grades and High School is 10th through 12th grades. Kids usually start Pre-Kindergarten at age 4. Pre-Kindergarten is not required here in Pennsylvania. Children have to be 5 years of age before September first in order to start Kindergarten. So, if their birthday falls after that date, they have to wait until the following year to begin school. Kids are anywhere from 4-5 years old when they start school and between 17-18 years old when finished high school. Hope this has helped you.

My cat stepped on the keyboard and I just lost my answer, so I'll add to what other folks have said. A county in the USA may have 40,000 people and four separate school districts. Even within some of the larger school districts, you see different configurations, often depending on the size of existing buildings. Some schools in very remote areas are K-12, in one school. I've heard of cities that have one elementary school for grades K-3, and another for grades 4-6. We do like to send kids going through puberty to a very small, very separate school. In the old model, you had junior high schools that were 7th-8th, or sometimes 9th. I know at least one rural grade 7-12 school was directed by the state in recent years to split into a grade 7-8 middle school and a grade 9-12 high school. And I know a rural middle school that closed down due to falling enrollments last year. The kids in grades 5-6 were sent to the elementary school, and the kids in grades 7-8 were sent to the high school. Cut off dates and school years also vary widely from school district to school district. You usually have to turn 5 by September or October to enter kindergarten in the summer, and 6 to enter first grade. But in Hawaii, you enter first grade in the calendar year you turn six, kindergarten if you'll turn five by the end of December.
